Name: Samhain Naga
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Orientation: Straight
Moral Alignment: Neutral
Mother’s Demon Type: Humanoid; lightning
Father’s Demon Type: Humanoid; ghost-ish
Occupation: Travels around studying magic and thinking about ways to use it.
Alignment: East
Appearance:
Samhain Naga is a five foot eleven male, very skinny and not physically strong. He has dark brown hair and lime green eyes, and is only one hundred and forty pounds. He’s nothing special to look at; in fact, for the most part he even usually looks human. He’s skinny enough that, when he stretches, one can count the ribs on his stomach if he’s not wearing a shirt; rather, one can see them quite clearly, usually, and can at least good a good idea of where they are when he’s not.
Since Samhain doesn’t get much sleep, he usually has dark lines under his eyes, and he doesn’t look like he cares much for appearance. For clothes, he usually wears things like a short-sleeved shirt with a pair of jeans; he also usually goes either barefoot or wears sandals, and wears a silver snake emblem at the end of a gold string around his neck at all times. On his right hand he wears a leather glove with the fingers cut off; underneath it are heavy zigzagged lightning-shape scars from when he wields Odin, a magical sword he carries around. Also, he wears a chain bracelet with a sword pendants at the bottom of it on his left wrist; this is Odin when it lies dormant and magically compressed.
Also, he can also enter a sort of more ghost-like form; in this, his body becomes transparent, with his eyes turning red, but otherwise looks about the same.
Personality: Samhain is very curious about many things, but does not wish to do harm to others, often choosing to remain neutral and uninvolved in any conflict he comes across. He would rather just live peacefully, with somebody to care for and something to entertain him throughout the years. He likes to read; he also likes to wander and explore. So, a while back he started traveling around and going to various places to see everything he could; to experience all he could. He does not feel like he truly belongs anywhere, so every time he just moves on. He does not have any real fighting skills; however, curiosity compels him to train and think up various techniques to use with the powers he does have, as well as those he’s seen others use.
For the most part, while Samhain does not wish to do others harm, he does not like demon kind; he acknowledges that while he is himself a demon, he has never been able to find any endearment for either demons and humans, choosing to believe that the world would be better off without either. For that reason he chooses to keep to himself, trying to make sure he does not linger or get too close to anybody; he solidly believes that he is an evil creature and seeks to not “let any others get hurt because of my evil nature.”
Strengths:
Lightning: Samhain can create, control, and manipulate lightning and electricity, which are essentially the same thing.
Invisibility: Samhain, due to his ghostly side, can go invisible, but he still casts shadows, can be heard and smelled when he does so.
Immaterial: When Samhain goes into his more ghostly form, he can walk through walls, but only if he chooses to. Also, he cannot be hit by solid objects.
Levitation: In ghost-form, Samhain is able to levitate, but only up to five feet above the ground.
Possession: Samhain is able to possess people in ghost-form (meaning, take over their minds) by touching them and emiting a wave of energy over them, but only for a few moments, and all he can do is control their actions; he can’t learn anything about them, so to speak.
Weaknesses:
Weakness of ability: even though he knows how to use his abilities and has a bit of power, Samhain can’t control them very well and is inexperienced in using them; also, as said above, they aren’t very strong abilities, except for the first and last ones. Also, the last ability can be undone if the other person focuses their will and throws off his control; it takes an enormous amount of focus to do.
Weakness against magic: When in ghost-form, while he can go immaterial and avoid physical hits, but even when not immaterial anytime Samhain is in ghost-form, he has little to no defense against magical attacks that do not require physically hitting something.
Physical weakness: While Samhain does have some strength, he hesitates when he gets hit and doesn’t like pain; as skinny and small as he is, he can’t take pain very well and avoids it as much as he can.
Phobias and hesitations: Samhain is terribly afraid of heights and is especially wary and hesitant when it comes to danger or other people.
Desire: Samhain doesn’t have the strongest of wills, and while he may be reluctant to tell people things, if one pressures him hard enough he cracks quite easily; he is not very string of a person. Also, most of the time his actions are done according to his desires, and thus he makes a lot of stupid mistakes.
Pacifist: Smahain doesn’t like fighting; even when threatened, he hardly ever will defend himself and tries hard to avoid fighting anything unless he’s almost one hundred percent sure it won’t fight back.
Weapons:
Weapon – Odin- a magical weapon, Odin is a blade held together by the powers of electricity, and is harmful to its user. The blade is sort of katana-like I shape; the bar, beneath it, that separates the blade and the hilt, is in the shape of a snake. Finally, the handle is just another metal bar, big enough to be held with one or two hands if necessary. Each of the three pieces of the blade are actually have a one-inch gap between them; the bar above the hilt rotates in a clockwise and the blade itself in a counterclockwise rotation that gets faster or slower depending on the strength of the wielder’s emotions. The blade is held together by lightning flowing between the detached parts, so it draws heavily on its user’s power. When not being used, it turns into a chain bracelet with a little sword icon attached to it, magically compressed.
Items: Samhain keeps a bag with him at all times, and in it is all he really ever carries; he wears it at his side, with a diagonal shoulder strap keeping it in place. Within are several ink brushes and ink pots, some food, a couple scrolls, a couple flasks of water, and some spare money.
History: Samhain Naga was born in the middle of a forest of the first of November- the original day of All Hallow’s Eve. There, he was born to two demons who took good care of him, and had little to do except explore the forest or practice what he could control. Ever since he was little, he’s always enjoyed finding little grassy hillsides or tall, shady trees and laying on either the grass or a large tree-branch and just resting, enjoying the world around him for what it was, thinking on life and deep questions, wondering what other parts of the world were like. His mother and father were often worried about him; he could sneak off and stay somewhere thinking, occasionally drifting off to sleep, for hours, and they couldn’t find him easily. That actually became a bit of a pattern; if there was one thing Samhain was good at in the forest, it was walking softly and hiding in plain sight by just being somewhere people didn’t really look that often.
Samhain also enjoyed observing others and watching people who came and went use their powers and such, thinking about ways it might be able to be used to increase its effectiveness for fighting or for things it could be used for outside of just fighting. Not liking to fight himself, he eventually took to traveling, as there was often a lot of fighting in the forest, and began traveling around to see and explore other areas, too, in order to better understand other demons and humans. Samhain was a bit odd; in the small area where he was born, he was not particularly easily accepted and thus grew up with a sort of outsider’s view of the world and the people around him. He considers people to be very odd and unusual things.
Since leaving the forest he was born in, he’s been in a lot of places and had to leave many, because he saw others and how they were so happy being friends with each other; as much as he wanted that, he did not feel it was his place to impose on their happiness and chose to just move on; also, he began to grow bored with the scenery around him and grew ever more curious of other areas. So, he moved on, never making any actual connections with others, not having any actual contact other than to go get things like food or water, and in many areas he left quite quickly because he feared that, as a demon, others might try to fight him. He did not want that, so he just continues to wander, living his life in as much peace as he can.
RP Sample: (OOC: Yay! Pointless RP sample! XD )
The bright white moon was full and shining bright and high in the starry, glistening sky above the sleeping world to which the midnight hour was just now coming to. The small little stream running through the woods here was gurgling happily as it swept away the dirt and cleansed the earth it traveled over, and even the wind was quiet, with barely a rustling in the trees.
And once again, Samhain couldn't sleep.
Positioned on a lower branch only a few feet off the ground so that his fear of heights wouldn't kick in, he sighed; he had woke up only a few minutes before and, as normal, couldn't get back to sleep; he never could. Cursed. Cursed, cursed, cursed. It's friggin' evil. He was about ready to get moving again, or so he told himself, along the road again to get to the nearby town so that he could restock on food before he headed off down the road again when he heard two people coming toward him, softly, sneakily, as if they didn't want to be caught, from down along the path from the town.
It was a young man and woman, who, not noticing him, proceeded to the edge of the lake and decided to go swimming, apparently. It made Samhain blush, at first, watching the female, but eventually she got in the water and he felt like wasn't intruding as much. Still unnoticed, he observed as they swam for a bit, and then eventually crawled up on the beach and cuddled together for warmth. He shook his head; they must be crazy. It's the middle of the night; that water's got to be freezing on them.
Suddenly, the female arched her back, and Samhain blushed again; he hadn't been watching because it didn't seem right to watch more private rituals of humankind, but she was in just the right position now to see him, and, of course, she screamed. Samhain just merely dropped down from the tree and began running into the woods. Well, so much for THAT town. This is why I don't get involved with these things; it's too easy to misunderstand somebody. He continued running until dawn, well way from the couple, before slowing down to a walk and continuing on his merry way. He sighed as he did so; Why can't I meet somebody I can feel that way about? He suddenly slapped himself. Phrase it better; I meant the love part, not the actions. He sighed again; eh. It doesn't matter. I really shouldn't allow myself to get involved with people that way anyways. It just leads to people getting hurt, from what I've seen. It's entirely useless. He shrugged, and began watching the world around him, wondering where he was heading next.
