Name: Amaya
Age: looks 24, is 650 (About 50 years younger than Sesshy and 150 yrs older than Inu if my math's right)
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight
Moral Alignment: Good
Mother’s Demon Type: Konjou Ryuu (Spirit Dragon)*
Father’s Demon Type: Konjou Ryuu (Spirit Dragon)*
* Both parents have partial human blood; or half demon depending on your view (will be explained in history).
Occupation: Lady of the East
Alignment: East
Appearance:
Human Form and Dragon Form minus the wing claws
Amaya stands roughly 5'4" with purple eyes that change into blue when she turns human and bluish purple in demon form and red in human form. Her hair is long, about mid back, but pulled back into a ponytail and is done up for formal occasions. Her dress is similar to that of the Western Lands' dress, with the white baggy kimonos, but are less baggy and have more dark and midnight blues, blacks, and purples. Though that does not limit Amaya to wearing tight fitting clothing more suitable to her station as a noble. Corsets, tight dresses and the like. The lose fitting clothing is more fitting her travels, though a travel corset is worn.
Traveling over the years has harden Amaya's body to actually go without the need of her travel corset, but it seems that wherever she goes with it on, she's more noticed. Yet Amaya travels without it on. Her hair has darken to an extent that it looks more blackish purple than it does bluish purple. Amaya has actually lived in a geisha house long enough to learn from them how to entice males of youkai and human alike; but doesn't use it all the time. So, she relies mostly on sharpness of her mind and blade to fight her way out of situations when it requires it of her.
Personality: A bit on the arrogant side herself, Amaya is not in the pot like those that she snaps at. She can understand the need for change, unlike the other lords. In fact, Amaya had pushed for the change in idea that a female can hold a position of power just like any male can. This is met with closed minds and denied support because of the belief that females cannot handle ruling and the changes childbearing has on their bodies.
Thinking long before her opponent can think of a response to her, Amaya can get her way in a matter of different ways through her mind, but she does jump into battle without thinking. This does lead her into situations when she would have to allow herself to be captured; only to fight her way out again. Though being a ruling taiyoukai does demand a certain level of restraint on Amaya's part because of being one. Her jumping into fights was when she was younger, and resulted in not being raised "properly". So, Amaya has pushed herself to actually think things through before the option of fighting was the only option she would have to take against her opponent.
Strengths:
1. Amaya can sense the presence of spirits long before she can sense the presence of any type of youkai. Channeling her konjou powers through Kenkon. It has been known that once every few thousand years, one Konjou Ryuu would gain control over two of the elements other than spirit. Whether it be fire, earth, wind, or water. For Amaya, this is fire and water; the two opposites. It has been known to happen for opposites to be like this. Amaya can control either element with Kenkon, combined with her inherited spirit ability, against an enemy.
2. Being able to channel spiritual energy through Kenkon, Amaya had to master the basics of just channeling spiritual energy through her body. Under the tutelage of one of her many teachers, Amaya had learned several techniques the Konjou Ryuu had used in both battles and to calm themselves after wards as well as everyday use. After this, she learned how to use these same techniques using Kenkon.
3. Though not born to lead, Amaya had developed the ability to command people. It was not all the whole domineering that many men went about commanding others; she actually respected those that serve her. She has learned that some are unwilling to see that she was the ruling taiyoukai in the Eastern Lands. She had overcome that and it has earned her the respect of many.
Weaknesses:
1. Turning Human once every five years. Due to the fact that Amaya's ancestors had on occasion taken a human mate, she has some human blood in her. There is no definite way of knowing how much human blood she has, but it is enough for her to become fully human one night every five years on the full moon in June.
2. Not having full control and power over Kenkon, but still learning. Orphaned at a young age, Amaya had just begun her Konjou training. And due to the lack of overall knowledge that her parents would have given her, Amaya has some lack of control over Kenkon.
3. Lack of knowledge of how to use her inherit Konjou powers. Because Amaya had not formally and officially begun her training, she still has a large gap of knowledge missing of how to use her inherit powers correctly without bringing harm to herself or others.
Weapons:
Weapon 1 – A sword "made from the crystals of dead spirits willing". In truth, channels Amaya's konjou, or spirit, powers. In fact, the sword's name's Kenkon (Japanese for Heaven and Earth, universe). Being able to sense the presence of any other spirits.
Weapon 2 – Fire and Water elemental magic. Some Konjou Youkai (there are other youkai who have the same powers as the Konjou Ryuu) have some small measure over one of the known elements. Rarer still are those who controlled two. Amaya is one of them; controlling both fire and water.

History: Being one of the last survivors of the destruction of the Eastern Lands when she was only fifty years old and the last of her ruling bloodline, Amaya was taken in by an old youkai and was raised like one of his own. Being fifty years younger than Sesshomaru, Amaya had come around the Inu taiyoukai several times, but had no real connection with him. Amaya began her sword training at 75 years of age under the old youkai's studious eye.
Amaya was told everything the youkai knew about the Eastern Lands and of her people, but knew no one who could help the Ryuu with training. Which left Amaya to figure things out on her own.
Amaya's ancestors, primarily her forefathers, had on occasion taken on a female human for a mate, which results in a hanyou heir. Over the centuries the future heirs have eventually gained some human blood, but it was not enough for a one month transformation. Over the years, the descendants' time of transformation into human was lengthen. The transformation depended solely on the actual Ryuu (dragon) youkai on when they transform. For Amaya, that's once every five years on the full moon in June.
The youngest of the four children of Kiyoshi, the Lord of the East, Amaya had grown up with three older brothers and had followed them like a lost puppy; watching and learning from their lessons. After the destruction, she had found herself alone. Knowing that she was the last blood child of Kiyoshi, Amaya had gone off in search of a teacher who would train her in all that she lacked. After several decades of learning, Amaya had learned that many of her people were returning home and knew she would have to claim the title of taiyoukai and Lady of the East before any other could do so.
One stubborn young male had stepped forward before Amaya could return and claimed to be the true taiyoukai and eldest son of Kiyoshi. Amaya had heard the claim when she arrived mere hours later and assured those gathered that the claimer was not one of her brothers and therefore was challenged by the male.
A physical battle ensued when neither backed down from the taunting that was given. The time for the battle was unknown when the male finally gave up. Depending on who one asked, either the male was killed in the heat of battle, Amaya had his life in her hands and spared his life one to have him work as a lowly vassal, or let him live but banished him from the Eastern Lands. Either way, Amaya gained the Eastern Lands, title, and all that her eldest brother would have.
Now, talk and rumor of war with the Northern Lands has reached Amaya's court and it caused some worry among them. It had taken Amaya some time to rebuild the Eastern Lands and she did not want to see all that go to waste. So, Amaya has summoned an emissary to travel to the North in order to avoid such a war. Amaya sees the possible war as a threat to not only her lands and people, but to her rule for the knowledge, or the lack thereof, that the Lord of the North may not spare her life.
RP Sample: From "A Force Unknown"
The night of the new moon arrived before the group could find proper shelter. Amaya had gone off ahead to find shelter for the group. Inuyasha had mysterious vanished from the group, for reasons only known to the original group. Amaya had an inkling of why he was not with the group, but did not want to risk bringing it up. A nearby village suddenly plagued with demonic problems took the friends in for the night for the aid in ridding the village of the demons. After Miroku finished his rounds of "exorcising demons" he returned to the elder's hut where the original group of friends were staying. The two Inu youkai and Takehiko were wise enough to stay away from the village and to keep a close eye on it just in case some youkai did decide to attack. Amaya was on her own watch in the nearby village, but it was not for any youkai dumb enough to attack with four youkai watching the village or the friends in the village, it was for any sign of that mysterious black mass. It was now the common thought, though not wholely spoken, that since Amaya was there when it first appeared some six hundred and fifty years ago, she would be the one to sound the first warning.
The Ryuu youkai was in a silent vigil. Waiting, listening, watching, sensing for even the smallest hint of the mass that took out her entire eastern culture. There were none, but that did not mean it could attack at any time during the night. The only sounds that came from the woods were the usual nocturnal sounds one would hear if they were brave enough to venture in. From the tree branch Amaya was in, she could sense her adopted father and brother with Takehiko patrolling out of the villagers sight and Inuyasha was some where down below being kept company by Kagome and Shippo. By midnight, there were no signs of the black mass and the Ryuu youkai decided to join Inuyasha, Kagome, and Shippo. Jumping from branch to branch, Amaya landed in a branch not far from the trio.
