Name: Gabriel Zis of Naggor
Age: -unknown-
OriginThe Byzantine Empire, the House of Naggor
Gender:Male
RaceUnlike most of his kin, he is not a psion but a sorcerer. His long association with demons has changed him in many fashions, but still maintains his human form.
Orientation: Heterosexual
Moral Alignment: Evil
Occupation: Sorcerer. He inflicts curses and does...other unpleasant things by request. His services are not cheap and Gabriel tends to be...unreliable at the best of times.
Alignment: North
Appearance: His appearance is somewhat different to that of his kin and House. While most of them are dark-haired and tend to have green eyes (just like Michail Azazel), Gabriel was born with blond hair and sky-blue eyes. He is of average height among his peers and has a heavily muscled build, unlike the rest of his family who prefer to rely on their psionic powers to draw physical strength. A sorcerer he might be, but his face is a angelic mask that hides the cruel determination and terrible willpower which lie beneath.
Gabriel, unlike most practisioners of the dark arts, chooses to wear heavy plate armour instead of soft, long robes. Before he aquired Dementia he equipped himself mostly with the casual armour knights wear, plate and ringmail. He is trained in the arts of the sword and carries a cursed greatsword named Sanity's Eclipse.
Picture: Human Form, In-Between Form, Pure Form, Demon Form
Personality: Some claim that monsters are made, not born. Well, Gabriel is proof that they are completely wrong. Evil and cruel to the nails, he's the one who wouldn't hesitate to slice apart his own siblings to get a small bag of gold. (his loyalty cannot be bought at any price, but can be rented remarkably cheaply) The soul of avarice, he loves gold and power more than his own spirit and has made various blood pacts with many powerful Archdevils in exchange for power. Unlike most sorcerers that are chaotic in nature, Gabriel prefers to think his every move before making it and has an unpredictable, almost insane, attitude that proves how corrupted he is.
His violent behaviour and cruel machinations know no end, as he is known to slowly and painfully kill everyone close to his enemies and then drive them to despair, sparing them from death and sweet oblivion. Gabriel is the man that makes the villain you so much fear look like the Knight-In-Shining-Armour. If somebody trully deserves to burn in hell, it's him.
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Weapons: Dementia
A cursed suit of armour that once belonged to an ancient Kabal of sorcerers and was passed down from father to son, until Uriel Naggorites put an end to their bloodline and claimed the armour as his own. Miraculously he managed to survive the suit's curse and keep a hold on his sanity (he was stabbed in the back by his brother later, but that's beside the point), proving that Dementia could be controlled. It was passed down to Gabriel's father and after his death, the armour found it's way into the son's hands.
It offers a tremendous amount of protection, but at the cost of slowly draining the user's strength and sanity, until the wearer is helpless without it and must wear it constantly. When used correctly, it can send the wearer into a killing frenzy, boosting his strength, speed and regenaration to inhuman heights.
Here you can see a picture of both the armour and sword.
Items: A backpack with a bedroll, food and water. He also wears a long red cloak.
History: ((Finished my History exams. No wonder I remember all of this crap about the Emperors XP))
Gabriel was born in Pella, the son of a potent sorcerer that held a high position in the House of Naggor. At the age of five he saw his father being devoured by a powerful devil he had summoned, a memory that still comes to haunt him at nights. His mother, a powerful and respectable witch, taught him the Dark Arts and by the age of 14, Gabriel had achieved the status of the average sorcerer, quite an achievement for one of his age. Afterwards his uncle took him under his wing and became his mentor when it came to the arts of war and battle sorcery. Zis stayed with him until his 25th year, when he was deemed worthy to start his service to Naggor.
That was the era of the Byzantine Emperor Justinianus, who organised a mighty army and launched a series of succesful campaigns against Italy, Spain and the Bandals of North Africa. The Naggorites had little concern about the outcome of the wars and tried to worm their way into Imperial service by sending their sons to serve in the army. Gabriel was one of them. He was assigned to a unit of Byzant Kontakioi who specialised in the use of zweihander swords(greatswords). He fought in Italy and later Africa, where he achieved the rank of captain and led his own company of troops to crush the last remnants of resistance.
After the war ended he returned home and left the army, selling his sorcerous talents to the aristocracy and taking out their enemies for them, doing the House's work on the side as well. This led him into many life-and-death situations and he miraculously managed to survive. Soon, he became overconfident and arrogant, believing that nothing could touch him as long as he had his powerful sorcery and skill with a blade. So, Gabriel started associating with the beings of Hell, minor demons at first and then with the Archdevils themselves, closing deals and selling portions of his soul in return for power. That was the beggining of a long and twisted path down to the realms of the Infernal.
At first Gabriel was able to fulfill most of the deals, gaining the terrible gifts the Archdevils had to offer. That was the Age of the Emperor Heraklius, when the Persians ravaged the Asian borders of Byzantium. Driven to military service once again by his House, Gabriel entered the army as a normal trooper under a fake name and took up his zweihander to serve his country once more. He sticked with Heraklius for all of the campaign and rose to the rank of captain again, after the battle of Kouropedion where the bulk of the Persian forces were crushed. The skilled captain attracted the attention of the emperor himself and to avoid any uncomfortable comfortations, Gabriel simply deserted and went back to Pella. The House of Naggor was furious with his actions, as he didn't earn them any more influence in the imperial court. Under the light of the circumstanses though (it would get realy awkward shoudl the Emperor learn that sorcerers and mind mages existed, let alone served in his army), he was forgiven and given a chance to earn his redemption.
Given the monumental task of binding Mel'gados the Cunning, an Archdevil of extraordinary power and intelligence, Gabriel had to travel through Europe for ten years, searching for a number of artifacts to help him locate and capture the malovelent being. These items were: the Scythe of Charon, the Urn of Telamon, the Skull of Fernir, the legendary stormwolf of Norse legend and Sanity's Eclipse, the mad sword he was destined to weild. He managed to locate and retrieve all of them, except the sword. As his time and the patience of the House ran out, Gabriel had to resort to more extreme measures: his mother's help.
The witch was refusing to help, hiding the fact that the sword was already in her possesion. Gabriel, furious at his mother, turned to his Archdevil masters and made yet another blood pact to find the location of Sanity's Eclipse. Vengeful and vindicative by nature, the sorcerer fought a titanic battle with his own mother, killing her and taking the blade from her corpse, along with Dementia, his father's armour. With all the items in his possesion, Gabriel went forth and summoned the Archdevil, but was unable to bind him. After a short and one-sided confortation, the sorcerer lost and was on the brink of death, but his demonic masters decided to spare him and bestowed upon him the power of a true devil.
Revived and more determined than ever, the sorcerer used his newly-gained powers and beheaded Mal'gados with his blade. His overconfidence boosted to abnormal heights, he walked into Pella, holding the archdevil's head in one hand the mad blade in the other, he threw the head on the feet of his patriarch and demanded that he would be redeemed and given a healthy sum of gold for his troubles. Intimidated more by the sword than Gabriel himself, he reluctantly agreed, mentally noting to make the sorcerer's life as uncomfortable. (he did not, as he was murdered by his second eldest song along with the rest of his children, who ascended to his father's position but that's beside the point)
Gabriel kept serving in the army for the next decades, adopting false indentities in order not to rouse any suspicions and soon became one of the 'inssurrectionist troops' that Byzantium had to weaken it's enemies from within by causing revolts and other civil disorders. With his exceptional manipulation skills he was very efficient, turning lords against each other and spreading chaos in a very delicate way. (and most importantly, escaping in one piece)
When the House of Naggor was destroyed by Michail Azazel, Gabriel left for the Middle East and spent many decades there, selling his services to the highest bidder and increasing his power by closing deals with powerful devils and other sorcerers. After a few incidents with the local warlocks and authorities, he had to head easter, into China. Eventually, he found his way into Japan, where he has dwelled for 3 whole years, pursuing his malovelent practises and making himself a great deal of money.

Strengths:
- Cruel and Cunning
- Dirty Fighter
- Completely ruthless and merciless
- Due to Gabriel's long association with the demonic forces, his body has changed, giving him all the physical powers a demon would have. (superhuman strength, speed, sense etc)
- Chaotic Torrents. Like all sorcerers, he can concentrate his power into extrememly strong projectiles of chaotic energy to destroy his enemies. This is his strongest ability, but takes a lot of magical power to be activated.
- The Four Elements. Gabriel has the power to control Wind, Fire, Earth and Lightning to strike at his enemies. He can nornally create fireballs, bolts of lightning but to create larger effects like earthquakes and thunderstorms he needs to summon a number of powerful spirits to aid him, something that takes a lot of energy and time. (and chanting, to be sure)
- Demon transformation. Another change that his body has undergone. He can shapeshift into a demon. At the In-Between Form his physical attributes and magical powers are doubled and at the Demon Form tripled. However, this tires him very easily after he transform back and lasts for a short period of time. Therefore he has managed to activate a more pure form of this transformtaion, which allows him to increse his powers by half and not tire afterwards.
Weaknesses:
- Has a way of making enemies everywhere he's going.
- Colossal arrogance
- Bad Liar
- Holy powers. Obviously.
- Mind powers. (telepathy, telekinesis, everything like that)
- The use of his elemental-based powers is made by summoning certain spirits, depending on the nature of the element. (wind, fire, etc) To create earthquakes, floods or storms he will have to summon very powerful spirits, when lesser spirits need to be summoned whenever he wishes for a ball of fire to be launched. By summoning the spirit of a certain element, he becomes weaker to that element due to the nature of the energy used up. (for example, by conjuring a thunderbolt he calls for a storm spirit, which takes a certain portion of his lightning energy and makes him weaker to thunder-based attacks) The stronger the spirit summoned, the weaker he becomes to that element.
- Gabriel has made quite a few blood pacts with many Archdevils, surrendering a portion of his soul it's time he makes a deal. Therefore he is extremely weak to soulweapons and abilities.
- By using his sorcery, he surrenders a portion of his life-energy each time. Therefore the more he uses his powers, the weaker he becomes.
- Stamina. Gabriel has a weak stamina and using that insanely large blade of his doesn't realy help either.
- Agility. While faster than normal humans, he couldn't be described as a fast demon.
