Overall Personality: Cunning and cruel, Gunryo is a born deceiver and slayer, oblivious to the plight of others, since he can only see his own gain. He carries a lot of grudges and oaths of vengeance against a number of people, always repaying them in the most cruel way he can think of. (trust me, he can think of many) Despite his obvious evil nature due to his demonic heritage, Amon can have a few flashes of kindness now and then. Something like that is very rare though. Despite his optimism and somewhat carefree nature, he always prepares for the worst and hopes for the best, which is probably his greatest virtue.
In battle, his hatred and rage towards his enemy gives him a significant boost. He rarely ofers mercy, killing his opponnent as slowly as possible. When in Demon form, his mind is slowly corrupted by the unholy energies within him, making him lose his sanity and fall into a berserk-state.
Although Gunryo is more than capable of deceiving people, he can be deceived easily as well. His anger and constant mistrust towards both humans and demons gives his enemies something that they could hold upon and therefore a significant advantage against him.
Weapons: The Seeker of Souls
An ugly, but powerful sword nonetheless. Empowered by unholy demonic energies, it is a powerful tool capable of breaking through a stone wall. Despite it's large size, it is very light and easy to weild. However, despite all these advantages, it has it's own will. Rebellious and evil as it's demonic masters, sometimes it feeds upon the users own life energy and may be unwilling to be weilded in battle, making it unable to be drawn out of it's sheath.
Abilities: 1. Superhuman strength, resistance and agility. A trait all demons or half-demons share.
2. Shadow and Darkness Manipulation. Amon, like all demons of war, has the ability to manipulate or generate shadows and darkness, as well as sending dark projectiles of unholy demonic energy to hurt his opponents.
3. Fire Manipulation. The ability to generate and manipulate fire in the form of beams and blasts.
4. Calling the Storm. Amon is able to summon strong winds and lightning to damage his enemies and inflict destruction.
5. Demon and Greater Devil Transformation. This is the power to take the shapes of his demonic race and all the physical bonuses that go along with them.
Weaknesses: Despite his large range of powers, Amon has a large number of serious weaknesses. One of them is that whenever he uses one of these abilities more than four times a day, he feels himself drained and tired, unable to keep fighting for long. If he keeps using them, he might eventually kill himself. Additionally, his transformation powers can only be used once per week. Whenever he goes back to his human form, he finds out that many of his muscles are damaged and need to heal (the process takes three days) before he can rise and do battle again. Also, he can only use two abilities each day, be that Shadow/Fire, Fire/Storm w/e.
Furthermore, Gunryo Amon bares a heavy curse upon his shoulders, inflicted by his father, Yanbu the Bringer of Night. Whenever he overuses his powers (more than ten times per day) he loses a small amount of his soul, until all of his essence is in the hands of Yanbu and he ends up a soulless servant to his father. Therefore, Amon is afraid to use his powers and mostly relies upon his demonic strength, speed and toughness.
History: Gunryo was born in a small village outside of Kyoto, his mother a half-demon of Deception that made her living as a serving girl in an inn. She was able to hide her demonic features and lead a peaceful life, but her heritage was eventually discovered. She was thrown out of her home village and was soon found by the Greater Devil Yanbu, the Bringer of Night. She was raped and the result of that violent union was Amon.
Abandoned by his father, his mother took the infant half-demon and returned to her homevillage, far away from Kyoto, where she was eventually slain by the villagers. Amon was given to a nearby order of monks, where he grew up being taught the ways of peace. He never believed those teachings, thinking that it was within the natures of mankind and demonkind to commit acts of violence and death, but did not show it, his deceptive talents slowly growing.
Eventually, he ran away from the order at the age of 15, travelling around Japan and learning the trade of a mercenary and discovering his demonic powers. One year later, he met a demon hunter who tried to 'purge' him, but was easily overpowered. Before Amon tore out his throat, he learned of his past and returned to his mother's home village. Slaughtering everyone within it as an act to avenge his mother's death, he then left and resumed his mercenary life, seeing many wars and earning fame and the name: The Hundred-Slayer, due to the achievements of slaughtering all of the guards in a castle and then burning it to the ground.
Two years after the bloody reckoning in his mother's hometown, Yanbun finally started noting the deeds of his son. One night, he presented himself to Amon and offered a place in his service. The half-demon spat the offering back into his father's face, deviant to the last. Enraged, the Greater Devil inflicted his curse upon his son, hoping that the soul of the fool that dared defy him would soon be in his hands. Currently, Amon is in search of his father, hoping to avenge himself and is getting caught up in every major battle along the way.
RP Sample: ((This is Amon's first battle as a mercenary))
The thundering sound of cannons and the cries of ten thousand men filled the air. Hundreds of banners danced in the wind, the clash of steel upon steel and a thousand mutilated corpses and dying men threatened to overwhelm Amon. He knew that a sellsword's job was to be on the frontline and act as fodder, but could not bring himself to do it. The half-demon had chosed a hard life...or it would better be said that a hard life was chosen for him. Men were shouting all around him and soon, one died right in front of him, cut down by a sword-weilding trooper in heavy armour.
Reluctant, Amon unsheathed his katana, reluctant to use his demonic powers in the battlefield. To do so, would betray his heritage and get him killed. With a warcry, he jumped at the man, slashing at his chest. The soldier laughed and parried the blow easily. Amon was no swordsman. Instead, he fought as he best could. Throwing down his sword by reflex, he opened his claws and prepared to tear out the man's throat. Suprised by this suicidal move, the trooper led his guard down and let Gunryo see the opening. With a cry, the half-demon plunged his sharp claws into the throat of the swordsman and let him bleed to death. An arrow came towards him, but was shattered upon touching Amon's iron-tough skin.
And so, the half-demon kept killing and killing until his bloodlust was satiated. Terrified men fell upon his claws and katana and swords shattered when they striked at him. He lost his mind to the endless carnage, slaughtering just by reflex. And when the battle was over, he did not join the men to celebrate.
